SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:

The System Engineer serves as an INP primary resource to design, assemble (oversight), configure, test, and commission complex automation systems, working under guidance of the Technical Project Manager. Industry segments will focus on metals, mining, plastics, utilities, manufacturing, plus other industries as economics drive business opportunities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, program, implement PLC, HMI, and drive Systems.
• Elevate application understanding and skills to include advanced programming and complex applications.
• Typical process applications will include: simple sequential controls, advancing to more complex sequencing and difficult/critical applications; analog operations ranging from simple PID
to cascaded loop operations; analog process controls including: temperature, pressure, flow, weighing, speed, etc.; adapt and mix communications protocols with appropriate hardware
and software to accomplish project objective, when necessary.
• Support occasional "on-call" request from Aftermarket Engineering Field Service, including diagnosis and troubleshooting of customer processes at customer sites.
• Project types may range from: repeating previously completed projects, adapting as needed to specific customer application; engineering of systems for updating, modification, and/or replacement; engineering only for design specifications and services; and all new sub-subsystems and complete system

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Five years of experience in a similar position with proven performance applying PLC, drives, and HMI Systems in small/simple standalone applications, up to medium complexity
applications.
• Material Handling


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY:

This position is non-exempt, no supervisory responsibilities required.

TRAVEL:

Up to 80% travel and sometimes on short notice; must adapt quickly to new assignments. May also include after-hours calls and travel on short notice.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full time position. Regular attendance is a requirement for this position.
