SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for some portion of the design, and PLC program based on customer-defined specification. These tasks will need to be complete within budget and schedule for all assigned projects. Automation engineer will be required to support lead Automation Engineer for the Factory Acceptance Test as well as the site Acceptance Test.
The Automation Engineer will be responsible to ensure the commissioning of the system on the customer’s site meet all specification requirements for the portion of the solution assigned. Support the demonstration of the complete operation of the system to operations and engineering teams as required. Automation Engineer will supervise and train Automation Technician(s) assigned to the project.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to ensure design of the automation hardware system meets the customer’s specification and is completed within budget and on schedule for assigned tasks
• Responsible to ensure PLC and HMI code meets the customer’s specification and is complete within approved budget and schedule for assigned tasks.
• Responsible for on-site execution of defined tasks to ensure it meets customer’s specification and it is done within budget and schedule.
• Documents all work performed on a daily basis for each assigned task for each project
• Occasionally perform service jobs as required by the business

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree – BSEE.
• 2 years of experience in Automation and Controls.
• Bilingual preferred (German, Spanish, and Russian.)
• Expertise with Siemens S7 PLC (LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH) programming.
• Expertise with Siemens HMI (ProTool, WinCC flexible, TIA Portal.)
• Experience with Industrial Networks (Profinet, Profibus), VFD’s, etc.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is a full time exempt position, no supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL:

Up to 20% travel may be expected. Ability to take on additional project tasks, as required.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and regular attendance is required.
